last week was
such a yucky
week...at least
at work...i was
sooo ready for the
weekend. i felt all better when i left
the parking lot Friday afternoon.
unfortunantly the weekend is over
before you know it and it's back
to work. this week will be better...
with all the bday outings, deserts,
Easter and my weaknesses (mexican food, pizza
and ice cream) i have blown
my "lifestyle" change for the past week.
it's so easy to fall back into old habits...
i wonder how it's possible
to break them for good. it has
to be done.

the smell of peppermint tea
fresh flowers...i love all the colors and shapes
pink stuff...not the pink frilly stuff...i especially like the solidness of pink. Like my pink pepper mill and pink coffee maker...

clouds...i love the shapes and the way they look with the sun setting
cooking...of course it does help having so much pink stuff in my kitchen.
returning to a good book you're
reading that you've had to put down for a while
scrapbooking and stamping...it can be so fulfilling and so much fun
among many other things...

american's obsession with weight

& losing weight???
i find this to
be very interesting...
i'd also like to research

the messy cook

i am the biggest
mess in the kitchen...
i {love} to cook, but
i can tear up a kitchen.
i also love Rachael Ray, but the meals
that she cooks in 30 minutes probably
takes me an hour or sometimes longer.
oh well, she's a pro.
here are a couple of pictures of the mess
i have created all by myself...

i am sad to say i did that...granted
some of those dishes were already there
before i started cooking tonight.
i do try to cook 2 meals at a time...
that way i will have something
for lunch and dinner for the week.
so...i guess i have to give myself
credit for that.

rantings

during hip hop class
tonight i got VERY
discouraged and frustrated. i had to fight
back the tears that threatened
to roll down my face. this is no big deal,
but i am wanting to pick all the
moves up real fast and be
able to bust them out right away.
TOTALLY UNREALISTIC...TOTALLY i know this.
i can't get this one certain
part that we have been working on since
i started this class. it makes me so
discouraged that i can't get it. i wanted
to cry...how silly is that? so then i
felt so bummed...had the typical thoughts
of why am i doing this?
then...i'm looking at all of us in the
big barfy mirror wall, and i am the largest
girl in the freakin class. i felt gross
and disgusting. i know i'm doing something
about it...finally, but it's going to take
time. i can't tell that i've lost 12 pounds
really...maybe in the way i feel (i breath better),
but NOT in my clothes or in my mirror. nothing really
can be said besides...keep it up, you can do it, etc.
i know and i will. however, i still feel yucky.
sorry this post is so negatroid.

To Kill a Mockingbird

Harper Lee
such a wonderful
book.

i did not have
to read
this book in HS.
i'm not too sure,
but it may have been banned
from our schools' libraries
~i'll have to check on that~
anyways, i think that
if i did read it back then in
my teen years
i would
not have
appreciated it as
much as I do now...reading it
as an adult.
i probably would
have read it out of necessity...
just paying attention enough to
pass a test.
but, maybe i would have surprised myself
and really enjoyed it. i can't go
back to find out so
at any rate...I'm so glad I
read it at 31...i mean twenty eleven.

Hip Hop

so i took a hip hop class tonight with a friend.
it was at a church in Brentwood. it would actually
probably be nice to try that church one Sunday.
i really enjoyed it...

also, last week i joined Weight Watchers...again.
I am going to do this thing...

New Year 2007

my drab mood has
following me into
the new year.
totally not excited
about going to
work tomorrow.
i could stay home
for another week...
but that's not going to happen...must make money...
i feel like i'm so unhappy
in all areas of my life
because of how i look...my weight...
{there i said it}
i know, i know...i'm the only
one who can make the changes...
i know i can do it...i've done it before
i was almost there...then i let it all come back
it scares me that i will not be able to "keep it off."
i haven't been able to do so before. once my goal
for getting the weight off is over...so are all
my efforts. Or my unhappiness could be
from not going to church lately. where do i go?
then i also want to hide from the world...hide from
my life...from living...because of my weight. i think i will
be so happy when i'm at my goal weight...i'll go to a new church
and make new friends...i'll go out more...i'll be more confident.
but i probably shouldn't wait to live my life until i loose all this
weight. today i had the thought that i am only taking up space....

it has been a while since
i finished a book so
quickly. it was a very good read.
now i will be starting And Only to Deceive
by Tasha Alexander. she is a "local"
author here in TN.
i need to pick up French Women
Don't Get Fat and read it for
a while. otherwise i won't have
it finished in time.

i also just finished watching the movie "If Only."
it has Jennifer Love Hewitt and Paul Nicholls.
very romantic, but not the ending i was expecting
nor wanting. and of course the romantic
part left me with a feeling of longing for love. wondering
if love {real, true love} will happen to me.

it's about a girl that is from Iran that comes to
America in hopes to find a husband
in order to stay in America...very interesting to see

i just got finished reading a really good book
called Before I Wake by
Dee Henderson.
very
good
read.
however, as i read the last page
i was left with a sense of
uncompletiness.
{is that a word? it is now...}
they didn't completely solve the
case..the bad guys were still
devising a plan...and i still
don't know who the girl ends up
with. aarrrgghhh.
i have not been
able to find if
another book will be
written to finish
the story or not.
if not...why did it end so
unanswered?

Church

it's Sunday again and i didn't go to church. it becomes so easy not to go when i don't go every Sunday. i started missing my old church last night...it may have been for just a little while...i'll have to see how i feel in the next day or so to see if i am still missing it. i may be missing it cause the easiest thing to do would be to go back. start attending there regularly again. easy. it would be hard the first few times....with all the "where have you beens" and stuff. but eventually it would get comfy again...easy. the hard thing to do would be to start attending this new church regularly. start going to Sunday School...hard...cause i won't know anyone. but that's where i'll meet people. start going the Wednesday night classes and worship...again...not knowing anyone. i'd like to try it i think. why am i so scared to go alone. when i moved to nashville i went alone to this huge church. maybe cause i was so on fire for God. i want that fire back. only i want it to just pop back into me...easy. but i will have to take the time and effort to get in the Word and pray more...

i think i always want the easy way...for things to be handed to me on a platter...it doesn't even have to be a silver platter...plastic is fine...a plate...anything so that i don't have to work for it. this goes for losing weight, exercising, laundry, keeping my place clean and tidy...i want the drive and motivation and determination and the get 'r dun to just pop inside of me. it would be wonderful to just wake up one day with all of this in me...part of me. no more slacking off, putting things off. I ABSOLUTELY KNOW THAT THINGS JUST DON'T WORK THAT WAY...UNLESS GOD DOES A MIRACLE AND I KNOW HE DOES DO MIRACLES. i just think in my case that would be too easy and i need to start putting effort into these things. then i think God would probably start doing some things to help me out...maybe i'd even get a miracle in another area.

I guess that's what I get....
