{quote of the day}

i saw this quote on Ali Edward's blog
by Anna Quindlen
and i really liked it...just
thought i'd share

...but the biggest mistake I made is the one that most of us make while doing this. I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of the three on them sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages 6, 4, and 1. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in a hurry to get on to the next things: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less.

slacker...

that's me...
a blog slacker.
i often feel like
i just have nothing to
say...that nothing interesting
enough happened during
my day. so i don't
blog. i am
going to
try
to start
blogging
more on a regular
basis.

today i joined the Y...finally.
Michelle
and i
went to a
Zumba class...good times.

blah, blah, blah

last week was
such a yucky
week...at least
at work...i was
sooo ready for the
weekend. i felt all better when i left
the parking lot Friday afternoon.
unfortunantly the weekend is over
before you know it and it's back
to work. this week will be better...
with all the bday outings, deserts,
Easter and my weaknesses (mexican food, pizza
and ice cream) i have blown
my "lifestyle" change for the past week.
it's so easy to fall back into old habits...
i wonder how it's possible
to break them for good. it has
to be done.

things that make me {smile}

coffee
the smell of peppermint tea
fresh flowers...i love all the colors and shapes
pink stuff...not the pink frilly stuff...i especially like the solidness of pink. Like my pink pepper mill and pink coffee maker...

clouds...i love the shapes and the way they look with the sun setting
cooking...of course it does help having so much pink stuff in my kitchen.
returning to a good book you're
reading that you've had to put down for a while
scrapbooking and stamping...it can be so fulfilling and so much fun
among many other things...
these two make me smile too

so, what makes you smile?

american's obsession with weight

do you ever wonder when
exactly America became
obsessed with being thin
& losing weight???
i find this to
be very interesting...
i'd also like to research
this some more. if you know
of any books or sites about
this subject let me know.

speaking of weight...
i lost 3.6 pounds
this week.

also, i said i would be
posting a new pic
of Mr.Kitty and Nike...
unfortunately i didn't
have my memory card in my
camera when i took a picture, so
i'll have to get another one.

ramblings

i lost .8 last week...
but i didn't
do hip hop
i didn't
keep up
with my
food journal...
at least i
lost some.

i finished The
Girl's Guide
to Hunting
and Fishing this
past weekend.
pretty good book...
different.
i
started
another book...
it's called Thr3e by
Ted Dekker. it
is a great read...
very full of suspense.
it's a book you just want
to keep reading
and
reading...

another night of dance

did the
hip
hop
thing again.
good times...hopefully
by the end of the semester
i will have it all
down and not
standing there or stumbling
around while the others
are hipping and hopping.

tomorrow will begin
with changes at work in my
department...
i hope it will all work
out, but it will
probably be
chaotic
in the beginning.

what are you doing new year's, new year's eve?
i think of these words
sung byElla Fitzgerald...

to answer that question myself... ab-so-freakin-lutely nothing.
by choice...could have gone out with Patti and Nolan...
but would rather stay home and read and watch movies...
see...that is something...i guess i'm
not doing nothingafter all...

ahhhh...the excitement of my life

{please contain yourself}
